Back From the Shops

(Posted on FB 2/14/20)

PROJECT-51: I finally have the block, the head, and the crankshaft back from the machine shops. After masking and several coats of MG-red engine paint, I can start the reassembly!

Engine during tear-down.

Stripped engine block.

Finally back from the shop with .120" overbore.

Installing new core plugs.

Head as removed from engine.

Combustion chambers.

Note clogged water-jacket holes.

Head was bead-blasted and received new valve guides.

Valves were reseated and gasket surface was machined flat.

Crank was ground .020" undersize.
